Welcome to the SEMNUG
The Southeastern Minnesota GIS Users Group (SEMNUG) was originally founded in 1998 and after a four-year hiatus, was re-formed in February 2004 and has been meeting on a quarterly basis ever since. The users group covers a geographic area including the 11 county region of the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) District #9, though GIS users from any area are welcome.
The main goal of this users group is to foster a stronger GIS community in the southeastern part of Minnesota. Currently, there are over 80 GIS users on the group’s email distribution list who represent local, state, and federal agencies, non-profit groups, and private entities. Users group meetings are held quarterly at different locations around the region and usually include an overview of GIS projects completed or in-progress by the host agency, tips/tricks, and presentations about various other GIS topics.
If you have any questions about the users group, please contact any of the Steering Committee members.
